宋朝有个画家叫文与可，他的诗和文章都写得非常好，又很会画竹子。
sòng cháo yǒu gè huà jiā jiào wén yù kě ， tā de shī hé wén zhāng dōu xiè de fēi cháng hǎo ， yòu hěn huì huà zhú zi 。
His paintings of bamboo are so lifelike that they are praised by people.
他画的竹子栩栩如生，很受人们的称赞。
tā huà de zhú zi xǔ xǔ rú shēng ， hěn shòu rén men de chēng zàn 。
He used to grow bamboo around his house,
他曾经在自己的住所周围，种植了许多竹子，
tā céng jīng zài zì jǐ de zhù suǒ zhōu wéi ， zhòng zhí le xǔ duō zhú zi ，

他的朋友晃补之见了这种情形，十分佩服他，
tā de péng you huàng bǔ zhī jiàn le zhè zhǒng qíng xing ， shí fēn pèi fú tā ，
Once wrote a poem to praise him, including two lines that said: "When you draw bamboo, you have bamboo in your chest."
曾写了一首诗来赞扬他，其中有两句说道：“与可画竹时，胸中有成竹”。
ceng xiè le yī shǒu shī lái zàn yáng tā ， qí zhōng yǒu liǎng jù shuō dào ： “ yù kě huà zhú shí ， xiōng zhōng yǒu chéng zhú ” 。
From this comes the idiom "having a ready mind."
"胸有成竹”这个成语就由此演化而来。
" xiōng yǒu chéng zhú ” zhè ge chéng yǔ jiù yóu cǐ yǎn huà ér lái 。
