Beside the woods, there is a small river where many fish swim in the water.
在树林旁边，有一条小河，许多鱼在河里游泳。
zài shù lín pánɡ biān, yǒu yì tiáo xiǎo hé, xǔ duō yú zài hé lǐ yóu yǒnɡ.

One morning, Mother Cat took her kitten to the river to fish. 
一天早上，猫妈妈带着她的小猫去河边钓鱼。
yì tiān zǎo shɑnɡ, māo mā mɑ dài zhe tā de xiǎo māo qù hé biān diào yú.

They had just sat down when a dragonfly came. 
他们刚坐下，一只蜻蜓就来了。
tā men ɡānɡ zuò xià, yì zhī qīnɡ tínɡ jiù lái le.

The dragonfly was so funny.
蜻蜓真有趣。
qīnɡ tínɡ zhēn yǒu qù. 

 It flew around like a small plane. 
它像一架小飞机一样飞来飞去。
tā xiànɡ yí jià xiǎo fēi jī yí yànɡ fēi lái fēi qù.

The kitten really liked it. 
小猫真的很喜欢它。
xiǎo māo zhēn de hěn xǐ huɑn tā.

She put down her fishing rod and went to catch dragonflies. 
她放下鱼竿去抓蜻蜓。
tā fànɡ xià yú ɡān qù zhuā qīnɡ tínɡ.

The dragonfly flew away, but the kitten didn't catch it.
蜻蜓飞走了，但小猫没有抓住它。
qīnɡ tínɡ fēi zǒu le,  dàn xiǎo māo méi yǒu zhuā zhù tā.

So she went back to the river with empty hands. 
于是她空手回到河边。
yú shì tā kōnɡ shǒu huí dào hé biān.

When she saw it, her mother caught a big fish.
当她看到它时，她的妈妈钓到了一条大鱼。
dānɡ tā kàn dào tā shí ， tā de mā mɑ diào dào le yì tiáo dà yú.

The kitten sat by the river again and fished. 
小猫又坐在河边钓鱼。
xiǎo māo yòu zuò zài hé biān diào yú.

A butterfly flew in. 
一只蝴蝶飞了进来。
yì zhī hú dié fēi le jìn lái.

The butterfly was so beautiful. 
蝴蝶真漂亮。
hú dié zhēn piào liɑnɡ.

The kitten really liked it. 
小猫真的很喜欢它。
xiǎo māo zhēn de hěn xǐ huɑn tā.

She put down her fishing rod and went to catch butterflies again. 
她放下鱼竿，又去捉蝴蝶了。
tā fànɡ xià yú ɡān, yòu qù zhuō hú dié le.

The butterfly flew away, but the kitten didn't catch it.
蝴蝶飞走了，但小猫没有抓住它。
hú dié fēi zǒu le, dàn xiǎo māo méi yǒu zhuā zhù tā.

So she went back to the river empty handed. 
于是她空手回到河边。
yú shì tā kōnɡ shǒu huí dào hé biān.

When she saw it, her mother caught another big fish.
当她看到它时，她的妈妈又钓到了一条大鱼。
dānɡ tā kàn dào tā shí, tā de mā mɑ yòu diào dào le yì tiáo dà yú.

The kitten said that it's really annoying. 
小猫说这真的很烦人。
xiǎo māo shuō zhè zhēn de hěn fán rén.

Why can't I catch any fish?
为什么我钓不到鱼？
wèi shén me wǒ diào bú dào yú?
 
The mother cat looked at the kitten and said，
猫妈妈看着小猫说，
māo mā mɑ kàn zhe xiǎo māo shuō,

You should be single-minded when fishing. 
钓鱼时你应该一心一意。
diào yú shí nǐ yīnɡ ɡāi yì xīn yí yì.

You can catch dragonflies and butterflies. 
你可以捕捉蜻蜓和蝴蝶。
nǐ ké yǐ bǔ zhuō qīnɡ tínɡ hé hú dié.

How can you catch fish？
你怎么能钓到鱼？
nǐ zěn me nénɡ diào dào yú?

The kitten was very embarrassed to hear her mother's words and began to fish wholeheartedly. 
小猫听到妈妈的话非常尴尬，开始全身心地钓鱼。
xiǎo māo tīnɡ dào mā mɑ de huà fēi chánɡ ɡān ɡà, kāi shǐ quán shēn xīn dì diào yú.

The dragonfly came again, and the butterfly came too. 
蜻蜓又来了，蝴蝶也来了。
qīnɡ tínɡ yòu lái le, hú dié yě lái le.

The kitten did not walk away as if she had not seen it. 
小猫没有走开，好像她没有看见它一样。
xiǎo māo méi yǒu zǒu kāi, hǎo xiànɡ tā méi yǒu kàn jiàn tā yí yànɡ.

In a moment, hey! 
一会儿，嘿！
yí huì ér, hēi!

The line on the fishing rod sinks, and the fishing rod moves! 
鱼竿上的线下沉，鱼竿移动！
yú ɡān shànɡ de xiàn xià chén, yú ɡān yí dònɡ.

The kitten tried hard to lift the fishing rod, "Ouch!" 
小猫使劲举起鱼竿，“哎哟！”
xiǎo māo shǐ jìn jǔ qǐ yú ɡān, "āi yō!"

A big fish was caught! 
一条大鱼被抓住了！
yì tiáo dà yú bèi zhuā zhù le.

The fish fell to the ground and hopped around. 
鱼掉到地上跳来跳去。
yú diào dào dì shànɡ tiào lái tiào qù.

The kitten caught the big fish and cried happily, 
小猫抓住大鱼，高兴地哭了起来，
xiǎo māo zhuā zhù dà yú, ɡāo xìnɡ dì kū le qǐ lái.

"I caught the big fish! I caught the big fish!"
“我钓到大鱼了！我钓到了大鱼！”
"wǒ diào dào dà yú le! wǒ diào dào le dà yú!"

 Later, the mother cat and the kitten carried the fish and went home happily.
后来，猫妈妈和小猫抱着鱼快乐地回家了。
hòu lái, māo mā mɑ hé xiǎo māo bào zhe yú kuài lè dì huí jiā le.

The story of kitty fishing tells us that we can't do things half-heartedly.
小猫钓鱼的故事告诉我们，我们做事不能三心二意。
xiǎo māo diào yú de ɡù shi ɡào su wǒ men,  wǒ men zuò shì bù nénɡ sān xīn èr yì.

If we do things half-heartedly, we can't succeed. 
如果我们做事三心二意，我们就不会成功。
rú ɡuǒ wǒ men zuò shì sān xīn èr yì, wǒ men jiù bú huì chénɡ ɡōnɡ.

We should concentrate on things. 
我们应该专注于事情。
wǒ men yīnɡ ɡāi zhuān zhù yú shì qínɡ.

Only concentration is the way to success.
只有专注才能成功。
zhí yǒu zhuān zhù cái nénɡ chénɡ ɡōnɡ.
