In ancient Chinese mythology, there was a goddess named Nüwa, who was regarded as the "mother of human beings", had great magical power.
在中国古代神话中，有一位名叫女娲的女神，她被视为“人类之母”，拥有巨大的神力。 
zài zhōnɡ ɡuó ɡǔ dài shén huà zhōnɡ，yǒu yí wèi mínɡ jiào nǚ wā de nǚ shén，tā bèi shì wéi “ rén lèi zhī mǔ”，yōnɡ yǒu jù dà de shén lì。 

It had been a long time passed since Nüwa created human beings.
距离女娲创造人类已经过去了很久了。 
jù lí nǚ wā chuànɡ zào rén lèi yǐ jīnɡ ɡuò qù le hěn jiǔ le。 

One day, a large piece of the sky was suddenly collapsed, leaving a huge hole in the sky.
一天，一大块天空突然坍塌，天上留下一个巨大的洞。 
yì tiān，yí dà kuài tiān kōnɡ tū rán tān tā，tiān shànɡ liú xià yí ɡè jù dà de dònɡ。 

The flood gushed out and poured down onto the earth, the human beings were suffering from this great disaster.
洪水喷薄而出，倾泻下来，冲向大地，人类正在遭受着这场巨大的灾难。 
hónɡ shuǐ pēn bó ér chū，qīnɡ xiè xià lái，chōnɡ xiànɡ dà dì，rén lèi zhènɡ zài zāo shòu zhe zhè chǎnɡ jù dà de zāi nàn。 

Nüwa's heart ached, she made up her mind to mend the sky to protect the human beings she had created.
女娲的心很痛，她下决心修补天空，保护她创造出的人类。 
nǚ wā de xīn hěn tònɡ，tā xià jué xīn xiū bǔ tiān kōnɡ，bǎo hù tā chuànɡ zào chū de rén lèi。 

Nüwa began to look for the red, yellow, blue, white and green stones in big rivers and on high mountains.
女娲开始在大河里和高山上寻找红色，黄色，蓝色，白色和绿色的石头。 
yīn cǐ，nǚ wā kāi shǐ zài dà hé lǐ hé ɡāo shān shànɡ xún zhǎo hónɡ sè, huánɡ sè，lán sè，bái sè hé lǜ sè de shí tou。 

Finally, She found all the fivecolored stones she needed.
终于，她找到了她需要的所有的五色石。 
zhōnɡ yú，tā zhǎo dào le tā xū yào de suó yǒu de wǔ sè shí。 

She set up a pot and used the sacred fire to melt the fivecolored stones into a paste, then, she flew up into the sky and carefully filled the big hole with the paste.
她架起一口锅，用圣火将五色石熔化成胶糊状，然后，飞上天空，仔细地用糊状物填补着大洞。 
tā jià qǐ yì kǒu ɡuō，yònɡ shènɡ huǒ jiānɡ wǔ sè shí rónɡ huà chénɡ jiāo hú zhuànɡ，rán hòu，fēi shànɡ tiān kōnɡ, zǐ xì dì yònɡ hú zhuànɡ wù tián bǔ zhe dà dònɡ。 

In order to make the sky more stable, Nüwa also took a giant turtle from the East China Sea, she cut off its legs and erected them in the four directions.
为了让天空更加稳固，女娲还从东海带走了一只巨龟，砍掉它的腿，将它们竖着立在四个方向。 
wèi le rànɡ tiān kōnɡ ɡènɡ jiā wěn ɡù，nǚ wā hái cónɡ dōnɡ hǎi dài zǒu le yì zhī jù ɡuī，kǎn diào tā de tuǐ, jiānɡ tā men shù zhe lì zài sì ɡè fānɡ xiànɡ。 

From then on, people no longer had to worry about the sky falling down.
从此，人们不再需要担心天会塌下来了。 
cónɡ cǐ，rén men bú zài xū yào dān xīn tiān huì tā xià lái le。 

After all this work, Nüwa was exhausted.
做完所有这一切后，女娲已经精疲力尽了。 
zuò wán suó yǒu zhè yì qiè hòu，nǚ wā yǐ jīnɡ jīnɡ pí lì jìn le。 

When she looked up and found there was still a big hole in the sky which hadn't been filled, but the fivecolored stones had been used up.
当她抬头一看，发现天上还有一个大洞没有填满，但五色石已经用完了。 
dānɡ tā tái tóu yí kàn，fā xiàn tiān shànɡ hái yǒu yí ɡè dà dònɡ méi yǒu tián mǎn，dàn wǔ sè shí yǐ jīnɡ yònɡ wán liǎo。 

Thereupon, she unhesitatingly flew up to the hole with her last bit of strength......
于是，她毫不犹豫地用尽最后的一点力气飞到洞里 。。。。。。 
yú shì，tā háo bù yóu yù dì yònɡ jìn zuì hòu de yì diǎn lì qi fēi dào dònɡ lǐ 。。。。。。

Nüwa mended the sky with her spirit, while her body also scattered, benifitting the living beings.
女娲用自己的灵魂修补了天空，而她的身体也四散开来，造福众生。 
nǚ wā yònɡ zì jǐ de línɡ hún xiū bǔ le tiān kōnɡ，ér tā de shēn tǐ yě sì sàn kāi lái，zào fú zhònɡ shēnɡ。
