In ancient times, there was a man named Kuafu who was a legendary mighty giant and known for his strength and bravery.
上古时期,有个传说中的大力巨人名叫夸父,他因力量和勇敢而闻名。
shànɡ ɡǔ shí qī,yǒu ɡè chuán shuō zhōnɡ de dà lì jù rén mínɡ jiào kuā fù,tā yīn lì liànɡ hé yónɡ ɡǎn ér wén mínɡ。
One day, he was determined to catch the Sun God, who he believed was too far away from the Earth and not provide enough light and heat to people.
有一天,他决定抓住太阳神,他认为太阳神离地球太远,没有为人类提供足够的光和热。
yǒu yì tiān,tā jué dìnɡ zhuā zhù tài yánɡ shén,tā rèn wéi tài yánɡ shén lí dì qiú tài yuǎn,méi yǒu wéi rén lèi tí ɡōnɡ zú ɡòu de ɡuānɡ hé rè。
Thereupon, Kuafu wanted to chase after the Sun and catch it in his hands.
于是,夸父便想追着太阳,并把它抓在手里。

He began to run towards the Sun day by day.

When thirsty, he drank the Yellow River and Weihe River, then, he continued to pursuit the Sun.

Because he kept chasing the Sun without stopping, he eventually died of exhaust and thirsty before he reached the place of the Sun.
